Jon McGee, president, has served on the LMS Parent Board since the summer of 2006. He brings to the board years of experience in marketing / advertising and graphic design. He and his wife currently have three children attending LMS (and a forth coming up in the ranks). Presently, Jon is the Director of University of Kentucky Creative Graphics and Web Design, creating marketing materials for various UK colleges and departments. He graduated in 1991 with a B.F.A. from the University of Kentucky. In addition to volunteering for the LMS Parent Board and other LMS-related needs, he volunteers some of his time helping individuals diagnosed with autism and related disorders. Jon is also an artist and professional musician, performing regionally on a regular basis. His interests include old cars, vintage music gear, collecting and listening to 78s, and spending as much time as possible with family.

Melissa Compton

Melissa Compton joined the LMS Parent Board in 2008. She and her husband Ben are the parents of a son in the primary program. Melissa graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle in 2003 with a BSN in nursing. The family returned to their native Lexington in early 2007 and enrolled at LMS. Melissa is employed by the University of Kentucky Medical Center as a staff nurse in the Birthing Center. She previously served on the board of Postpartum Support International of Washington, a non-profit charity. She also currently serves on the Citizen Foster Care Review Board in Fayette County. Melissa is passionate about the well-being of children and families in the bluegrass. Her hobbies include baking, cake decorating, knitting, and reading. |
Ian Lofwall

Ian Lofwall joined the LMS Parent Board as Treasurer in 2008. Ian and his wife, Michelle, have a daughter who attends LMS in the Primary class, and their son previously attended LMS. Currently, Ian is Senior Manager of Executive Compensation at Lexmark. He previously practiced law for 10 years. Ian received his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law and his B.A. from Northwestern University. His interests include skiing, jogging, collecting sports cards, and spending quality time with his family. He is pleased to serve LMS as a Board Member and encourages other LMS parents to become involved with the school. |
