Primary Orientation NEW STUDENTS ONLY 8 am-10 am

August 16: Elementary 8 am - 2:45 pm (no early drop off or After School)

Primary Orientation ALL PRIMARY students 8 am -11:45 am

Primary parents may walk their child(ren) to the front door the first TWO mornings. Please do not park in front of the school so we can keep the carpool line moving for those students walking in by themselves. Primary parents may park along the street or in the parking lot. The main thing to remember is we must not block the entrance to the parking lot. We share this area with the plumbing business next door.

We will have the LMS First Day of School sign out front for pictures (Wednesday and Friday). Pictures may be taken at arrival or dismissal.

3. August 19th FIRST FULL DAY for ALL STUDENTS 7:30 am - 5:30 pm

More information about After School teachers this year will be sent in early August.

4. All students must have a tote bag for school. Due to space LMS does not allow backpacks (any size). Primary students (through kindergarten age) the bag should be no larger than 15x18 inches. We have LMS tote bags on sale for $12 for anyone who would like to purchase (picture below). Elementary students (1st-6th grades) will receive information from Ms. Cherry with details about tote bag options.

5. Students who nap at school will need a tote bag specifically for their nap items. The LMS tote bag works perfectly for nap items as well. Nap children will also need to bring a sheet for their nap mat (provided by LMS). We suggest a twin sheet folded and sewn to look like a giant pillow case. We drop the mat into the opening creating an easy nap set up. Nappers may also bring a blanket, small pillow and comfort item. All items must fit inside the tote small tote bag. LMS will provide an extra large ziplock bag to keep items inside and prevent touching other's items. (list attached below)

6. Kindergarten and Elementary students will need to bring their art supplies either to Open House or the first day of school. (list attached below)

7. August 20th Primary Class Parent Meeting 6:00 pm (adults only please~no childcare available)

This meeting will help parents know what to expect for the year and is important for at least one parent to attend (returning and new parents).

8. August 21st Elementary Class Parent Meeting 6:00 pm (adults only please~no childcare available)

This meeting will help parents know what to expect for the year and is important for at least one parent to attend (returning and new parents).

9. PRIMARY PARENTS please make sure your child has at least ONE change of clothes in his/her tote bag at all times (each item labeled with your child's name). Even children who have been toilet trained for a period of time often have accidents at school. LMS does not keep extra clothing in the school so it is important our child has extra clothing just in case.

10. Emergency medical forms and photography permission slips are attached below for families who have not turned these in or information has changed. These need to be on file in the office on the first day of school.

11. The Commonwealth of Kentucky has updated its immunization schedule effective July 1, 2018. Any student who attends public or private schools will be required to present an immunization form that includes proof of Hepatitis A coverage. The good news is that many providers have been planning for this update and have been providing immunizations, so your child may already be fully covered. Before August 15, 2018, it is the responsibility of each family to contact your provider and request either an appointment for Hepatitis A immunizations or a copy of the new immunization form which provides proof of coverage.

902 KAR 2:060 initially required students to complete the 2 shot series before the start of the 2018-2019 school year, but for this first year, the Department for Public Health will allow students to start with documentation of a single dose as long as there is documentation of a second appointment within 6 months and 2 weeks after the first dose.

ALL students must have a CURRENT immunization form on file in the LMS office by the first day of school. Students who are on a delayed schedule will need documentation from the doctor stating the immunization schedule the child is following.

12. A few openings remain at LMS for the school year. Please spread the word to your friends, family and neighbors! Remember your $350 fundraising is waived when you refer a family to LMS and they sign a contract with us for the school year!

13. LMS does not have a classroom supply list other than for the Elementary students. We do however have a "WISH LIST" of items that would be nice to have for the students. Balls (soccer, basketball, kickball, etc) for the playground, new board games for late day, coloring books for late day are a few items "wished for" at the beginning of school! Classrooms will also have "wish lists".

14. Shop with Scrip fundraising information is attached below. Shopping for back to school items makes this a great time to utilize the SWS site to earn money towards your fundraising amount!

15. PLEASE remember LMS is a NUT FREE environment. Absolutely no nut products may be brought into our school.

Please let me know if you have any questions. We are looking forward to another great year at LMS! Enjoy the last few days of your break and we will see everyone soon.
