PARENT INVOLVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Our website now has a feature for parent involvement opportunities! One of the new possibilities with parent involvement is to be a guest contributor to our LMS Family Blog Post. We would love to have volunteers write a "blog" anytime we have an event or even if there is something you would like to share about LMS. Write ups will be sent to Ms. Tucker for approval and then posted on the website. This is a wonderful way for parents to be part of what is happening at LMS while showing families that are looking for a school how our parents are involved. Currently we are looking for someone to write a blog the Primary field trip to the orchard. If you would be interested in being a contributor please contact Ms. Tucker!

November 4th - Early Dismissal

Due to President Trump visiting Lexington on Monday, November 4th all LMS students will be dismissed at 11:45 am.

Please allow plenty of extra time to arrive at LMS due to road closures around the downtown area. Families who typically travel through downtown Lexington will need to find an alternate route on November 4th.

Thank you!

Words cannot express our gratitude to everyone who contributed (and those who offered but not needed this month) to our first month of weekend food bags for Fayette County students. We packed the bags yesterday and Luca and his mom Sarah delivered those to the resource center yesterday! The Elementary teachers have created a rotation so 3-4 Elementary students will lead the packing each month~ helping our Primary students fill bags. Yesterday was heart warming watching and listening to the first 4 students explain time after time why we are putting food in bags! We would love to have a parent come in each month on food packing day to help the students and would also love parents to help take the bags in the afternoon. The food packing will be done between 9 -10 am and delivery must be done before 3:30 pm and you may take your child along!

Because of the generosity of our parents I have a garage full of food for next month already!! I will be doing an inventory of what we have and the Sign Up Genesis for November will be ready by November 6th to fill in what will be needed so please wait to see the list before purchasing any donations.

Our next food pack/delivery day will be November 21st! Let me know if you would like to help!
